Today I decided to make homemade tomato sauce to eat with some pasta. I went through all the trouble of dicing onion, carrot, celery, & 4 large tomatoes. The tomatoes also had to be boiled in water to be peeled & deseeded, which took forever. The sauce takes between 1.5-2 hours to cook, and I didn't bother to put a lid over it because I like to stir it a lot and it makes my apartment smell awesome. I was sitting at a bar stool at my counter, when I noticed the itsy bitsy spider come down from the ceiling....and straight into my spaghetti spot. I mean, do spiders not sense the heat or smell of food and know they shouldn't go there??? I went to look in my pot & saw him for about a half of a second before he drowned in the sauce. Poor spider. And, my sauce was ALMOST done. It had already been an hour. Thanks spider for ruining the meal I had been looking forward to all day.
I ended up going to Bloom & buying a jar of Prego sauce & making it the cheap, fast way. So disappointing.
And, also I am terrible at making the right portion for one person. I made enough spaghetti to feed like 7 people. But no one is here with me so I will be eating this all alone....well, really just tossing most of it in the trash after it goes bad in the fridge in a week!
aww sorry the spider ruined your sauce!
